Apple is closer to bringing Ads to Apple Maps with the release of a new iOS beta, iOS 26.5 Beta 2.
Ads in Apple Maps will now display a new splash screen when opening the app.
Apple says ads will be shown based on your "approximate location," current search terms, and on the map when searching. Ads will also be shown in the app's new "Suggested Places" section.
Apple says that advertising information is not linked to your Apple account for user privacy. Data is not collected by Apple and is not sold to third parties. Ads in Apple Maps are set to roll out to the public "this summer." Apple plans to include ads in the Maps app on iPhone, iPad, and Mac in the United States and Canada. Ads in Maps will have a small "Ad" label, just like ads in the App Store.
