Today, Apple effectively discontinued Clips, its short-form video editing application that enables users to combine images, voice recordings, text, music, and filters to create videos optimized for social media, entirely free of charge on the iPhone.
Apple has removed Clips from the App Store, and a recently published support document on Apple’s website states that the application will no longer receive updates. Furthermore, new users will be unable to download the app as of today.
Existing users who have already installed Clips may continue to utilize the application for the time being. Additionally, individuals who have previously downloaded the app will retain the ability to re-download it via their Apple account.
