Apple is testing the next version of iOS 26, iOS 26.3 which is said to launch in January of 2026. iOS 26.3 Beta 1 is a small update, but it still brings new features to the iPhone and other Apple devices.
Transfer from iPhone to Android
Apple is making it easier for iPhone users who want to transfer their data to a Android. iOS 26.3 will let you put your iPhone next to the Android phone you want to transfer your data to.
When the two phones are connected users will be prompted to select what data they want to transfer, such as photos, messages, notes, apps, passwords, and contacts. To use the data transfer you don't need to download a separate app, as the transfer tool is built into the settings app.
Notification Forwarding
iOS 26.3 adds "notification forwarding" a feature that lets you forward notifications on your iPhone to third-party "smart" watches such as a Fitbit.
The new feature can be found in the settings app. Apple says that Notification Forwarding only works with one device at a time, meaning you can't forward notifications to your Fitbit and get notifications on your Apple Watch at the same time.
Weather Wallpaper
iOS 26.3 also adds a new Weather section in the lock screen customization screen.
The new lockscreens let iPhone users set their wallpaper to show the current weather based on their current location.
This update isn't really that big but it does add little quality of life improvements.
